Mom’s Against Cars referenced this article,
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
What’s not mentioned in there scary ad is that what’s potentially poisoning you is your exhaust and that this can happen when your parked in your car. Not ALL THE TIME. If your looking for something to laugh at, look them up on Facebook, find that post and read the comments.

I drove my er....sub sub compact for at least 15 min today with the recirculation on. Should I have suffocated?

Hey reading comprehension and logic is hard!
I kind of want to copy this and change it to circle the non-recirculate button and add text about how you’ll breath in your exhaust fumes and die if you use it. Then post it to their Facebook page or something

I think that page is satire.

Is this not satire? I’m going to pretend this is satire.

My truck isn’t even watertight, let alone airtight. I should be fine.

Hopefully it is , but many people are stupid, like really stupid
Even if it is, I wonder how many people on it don’t realize that?

You say this, but people will inevitably share this with sincerity. Korean fan death and the muggers throwing eggs at your windshield to rob you are two other “stories” that refuse to die.
Whatever happened to skepticism, critical thinking and deductive reasoning?

This is a problem that is plaguing the internet, and Facebook especially.

Facebook. Also, just... the internet.
I mean, it’s no excuse, I’m with you 100% on that. But rumors used to take a lot longer to spread, as did satire. So people were just exposed to fewer outlandish stories like that. When that crazy uncle tells you not to use the recirc button in your car, you figure, ‘he’s a crackpot anyway’ but now people are exposed to so many of these kinds of things, it’s harder to process them. Maybe I’m being too generous.

Yes because cars are airtight... some people

The Internet. If it’s on the Internet, it must be true. And now, even when something is debunked with hard scientific facts, we can just scream “Fake news!” and go on believing whatever we want.

I didn't know I exhaled carbon monoxide.

Fortunately, my car is a convertible
, so I can use the recirculate all I want and never run out of air.

I’m honestly not sure now. With modern cars having all these triple door seals and whatnot, I wonder how tight they’ve really become. There’s the HVAC circulation venting, and the cabin pressure relief exhauster thing, but is there any ventilation beyond that?

Does “moms against cars” actually exist? Only in America lol

This is a satire, meant to mock people the hide behind “for the children” to justify various intrusions into everybody’s personal lives.
